I open this Cucchi's webpage and put a lot of his pictures. But frankly saying, I'm never an enlightening. I just want you to think "Oh, tajima doesn't make any sense at all! But may Cucchi be great, anyway? Whmm..?" How did you think? Watching paintings is not my hobby. O.K.? But I love Piccas. Because even non-sense person like me can see his great! There's, however, not many of his genuine great ability. One able man per a century or 100yrs. And I feel Mattess cunning, although I love Mattiss and his rich and wonderful color, too. He does easy going in a way. He doesn't sublimate anything in his picture and doesn't carrying any of our painful burden which there is in human being, the whole society, and the world. He doesn't give us a new-born value. That's why I feel him cunning. That's why I love him. I know it makes him falls in rank. Not like Picas!
On the other hand, too much Pain is not always the best in the process of the painting! I know I behave insolently, but I want to say that's the one and only thing I feel from Monk, that "Oh, the modern people have been having a hard time?" Especially to me, or such a person uninvolved with the modern distress and seriousness. That's not what I want. I want a new-born value for the future (A next Piccas.), or a Today's Monk of its omen who let me show "He is coming! He's almost come!" and leads me to a new Picass. I may say for a long time I wait a Christ. So I've been impatiently waiting for the date when a prophecy Yaohan appears.
Cucchi appears, then.
Now I cannot say "Cucchi is a new Picass." But he's at least a Today's Monk. No doubt! Like the case of Monk which he draw faithfully the 19 century's one, Cucchi carries our burden and our collective unconscious anxiety who live in the modern city. Exactly he draws a painting with deep pain (I read a newspaper). But that's not the point, I may say!! I think there's a thing much more important than it. I prefer his rich color equal to Mattiss and our common feeling like we're floating in the modern days which is the same as the fashion, the films, and other present subculture worlds.
He's young enough, fortunately. I looks forward to his any achievement; Where he can go up to, Where he will go, and Whether he could be Today's Piccass in the future. The prophecy already appeared.

That's was the first time I saw something worthy to look at in the modern arts, when I saw Enzo Cucchi. His work is an Art and exactly what we live in these modern days. Especially it*s his beautiful and rich color. He showed me the present proceeding period of time, which is the time of the "artificial-made pure". And it showed that a new Picass will appear soon. I thought about the place where a Picass will appear, and I suppose it should be from the world referring to the "computer".
Metaphorically speaking, he's a Monk of this century. I went to several museums and saw a lot of modern arts. But I have felt to be said "Not Yet! Not yet! It's not come yet" before. And I saw his "La Lupa di Roma", when the ding don bell sounded in my mind like "It's come! It has come!." I was struck with the thought that finally our Monk had appeared.
The prominently good work always goes ahead of a decade or more. So Cucchi told me "Now I don't have to wait so much!" I was glad. Yes, indeed.
Though painting may not be a joyous process to him, Enzo Cucchi lives by his images. His paintings are often dark. He has a really hard time and draw a painting. But it's nothing! None of my and our business"!
"It is obvious that in a crisis-ridden world like the one we live in, all we have to cling to are things that project a firm image. Image is the last hoe of a world so weakened and ailing as ours," Cucchi said in a 1984 interview.
His painting was drawing toward death at the hands of abstract and conceptual artists.
The color is as powerful and beautiful as Mattiss'.
How to understand Cucchi:
3 objects are important. He always draws only those things. It's just like He likes to draw them and he don't want to draw other things.His mountain is the above work like heaven, and another world. His long train-like house is our world. Dogs, Horses and other animals are the bridge between 2 worlds. So his dogs run forward always on tight and catercorner stretched chains.
The reason why whishes is always on-line and long connected like a train was, that his hometown Ancona has the same kind of buildings.It's like the way our life go.
Cucchi is a 20C's Monk like Monk was exactly the 19C's embodiment. Cucchi embodies this 20C. Referring to this definition he's not a Picas at all or only one existence of this 20C. And he's not even Beethoven or one existence of 4 great composers who cross over what we call, our historical time. But he's today's Monk, anyway. It's not capable to be ignored. We live nowadays. We're all after 19's Monk in the chronicle order. So nobody ignores him. With ignoring or avoiding him, we all can express nothing. Because we're after Monk. Some people just cannot overcome but avoid it, if they does. I look down them. They're nothing.
If I offer the notion of who is genius, Cucchi is genius. I cannot say he's not. He's it from this point of view.
Well, that's good because he is also a poet. The title of his paintings are all meaningful or O.K. Especially about the 1996 series of "Untitled (The Age of Jesus)" has something. I think the titles he named for was absolutely right. Because he didn't draw anything and express nothing at all, besides all eyes or his houses or dogs on the canvases. He just embodies the present time. When I saw it, Immediately realized what is the present like Monk. That was exactly what I always notice.
And he is that kind of reasonable existence and tells me "It's almost come." It's like a herald Johanna in Christianity. He's another prophet.
So I am now very looking forward to the present version of "Piques" who is a true genius. If someone thinks of this century, he might have to insists Picass, without any connection to how he loves him or whether he love him or not. There exists some centuries which didn't have their own "Picass" before. So we're not guaranteed to get him. But Cucchi did tell me that he will appear soon within in this decade, because he's not a genius who goes ahead of 50 years. His things show me it will be in a few decades or so.
I have waited and waited for our Picass all the way.
